Although Framelco was established in 2002, its history began in fact in 1977.
Frank Snijders started in 1977 Franklin Raamsdonksveer, a producer of feed additives with well-known products like FraŽLac, Cholfran and Formac.Cholfran (choline chloride) was sold in competition with AKZO Nobel which finally led to a joint venture with AKZO Nobel. The production was concentrated in the factory in Raamsdonksveer.
Already end of the 70s Franklin produced the feed additive Formac based on formic acid and in the mid nineties Franklin introduced the blend of formic and lactic acid in the global feed additive market.
All these products were produced in the same factories as used by Framelco today.
In 2002 a new activity was started: the production of milk replacers. Framelco established itself as a producer of milk replacers and feed additives.
Beginning of 2009, a joint venture was founded with SILO S.p.A. Italy to further develop a new range of antibiotic replacers: the very successful FraŽ C line.
Today, Framelco is a leading innovative company in the worldwide animal nutrition market with production sites in The Netherlands and Ireland.
Our young but experienced technical team, our well equipped laboratories and high quality products are the guarantee for a strong growth as been seen in the former years.
At the end of 2012 Framelco expects to launch a new enzyme concept that will be unique in the world.
