Dry

α-monoglycerides

FRA Udder Health

FRA has developed FRA Udder Health dry:
a specific formula containing 1-monoglycerides of medium chain fatty acids, zinc, and micro-ingredients. All of these ingredients are coated in a fat matrix. Feeding this product to dairy cows improves udder health, may reduce mastitis incidence and lowers somatic cell count in milk.

For dairy farmers it is important to manage udder health and milk quality as these parameters directly affect farm profitability.

One of the most common and most costly health disorders in dairy cows is mastitis. Mastitis is the consistent inflammatory reaction of the udder tissue. This potentially fatal mammary gland infection is often related to the somatic cell count (SCC) measured in the milk.

Milk from cows suffering from mastitis show an increased SCC. Reduction of SCC leads to fewer treatments on farm, reduced costs associated with milk lost to antibiotic withdrawal, and cows lost to premature culling.

(Hogeveen et al., 2011)

FRA Udder Health dry is heat stable, environmental friendly, and safe for both animals and humans. FRA Udder Health dry allows farmers, nutritionists and veterinarians to have a solution to one of the most common disease syndromes in beef and dairy cows.

1-Monoglycerides of medium chain fatty acids

Extensive research shows that medium chain 1-monoglycerides possess antibacterial and animal performance improving properties. These 1-monoglycerides of medium chain fatty acids inhibit Gram-positive pathogenic bacteria. As a result of the unique mode of action, 1-monoglycerides are active in the entire gastrointestinal tract and blood stream. Pathogens do not develop resistance against 1-monoglycerides.

FRA Easy Zinc

FRA developed a nano-coated zinc oxide: FRA Easy Zinc. Zinc is known as an essential trace element that promotes the formation of keratin, which in turn promotes macro phage functioning and keratin plug formation.

Micro-ingredients

Adding a small amount of carefully selected micro-ingredients induces a synergetic effect.
